Buying skis today is not a cheap date
and navigating your way through a ski wall can be a daunting task.
Our high performance demo program is designed to make the whole
process of buying a new set of skis easier. Our demo fleet allows
you to choose from our vast selection of high-performance skis, as
rated by SKi Magazine. We have skis from Rossignol, Volkl, Nordica,
Fischer and Head for all skier types and abilities, as well as a
wide selection of women-specific skis. You can try as many skis as
you want until you find the one best suited for your skiing.
Here are some tips on getting the
most from an equipment demo day:
- Take the first run of the day on
your own equipment, so you can have a baseline for comparison.
- Have in mind several models you
want to test, based on magazine equipment reviews and/or
recommendations of the reps or shop employees.
- Don't try to test too many
models in one day. Five or six is about right for most people.
- Take two or three runs on each
model, staying on the same terrain.
- Try the product at various
speeds within your comfort range, and make a variety of turns.
- Factors to take into
consideration are stability, comfort, weight, edge grip and
maneuverability. In a word, is it "you"ser-friendly?
- Make written notes. (Tuck a
small notebook and pen into your pocket.) You may think you'll
remember each model you test, but written notes are your best
bet.

As you look ahead to the ski season,
keep in mind that it may be time for a new pair of boots. The first
step in finding a proper fitting boot is finding the right
bootfitter. As a member store of
America’s Best
Bootfitters, our job at Mud, Sweat n’ Gears is to find you the
perfect match. We have five Masterfit University certified
bootfitting graduates on staff – the most of any store in Western
New York. Our fitters have all been trained in the latest boot
fitting techniques, custom footbed manufacturing and stance
